MC has some hidden talent that many of the students only see at pep rallies. Dance teams and classes are a big part of the life of many MC students.

“My favorite part of dance is just meeting all of the people and getting close with them,” junior Alex Case, a member of MC’s dance troupe, said.

Other MC dance members have different favorite parts of the sport.

“I think that it is a really good experience and way to express yourself,” sophomore Gaby Hutchinson, who is in dance classes at MC, said.

Lately, they have been working hard to put on a Thanksgiving performance.

“We just had our Dance-giving concert,” Case said. “I liked it because we were all working together and choreographing stuff.”

This Dance-giving concert incorporated many MC dance students in the celebration of Thanksgiving.

“It was really fun,” Hutchinson said. “We got to choreograph our own dances and and perform them in the PAC. I liked getting to hang out with my friends who dance who I don’t get to see all the time. Also, just performing was fun because I have been doing it since I was little.”

After the Dance-giving performance, the dance teams quickly started rehearsing for other performances.

“Right now we are working on our competition dances,” Case said. “We are practicing for competition season and our spring concert, but that is not for a while.”

No matter what they are working on, dance teams have made the time that these girls spent here at MC more memorable.

“I think that it is fun because you get to meet a lot of new people here, and we all have something in common to talk about,” Hutchinson said.

Case also feels similarly to Hutchinson about the effects of dance on her overall MC experience.

“It is very fun [to be on the MC dance team] and you feel included all of the time,” Case said. “We do a lot of team bonding events like Christmas parties and secret sisters and learning the dance together. It makes time at MC very enjoyable.”

The MC dance teams competes and performs a lot  and these girls as well as the other members of the team work hard to put on a good show for all of MC’s students and many other people.
