Temple Run 2 Review

Temple Run 2

It has only been 13 days since Temple Run 2 has been on the app store, android play store, and Kindle devices. Since then it has amassed over 50 million downloads and has claimed the top spot on all three platforms.

The new TempleRun features the original “demon monkeys” chasing you in an all new setting. The new and improved setting includes waterfalls, rivers, stone arches, mine carts, and ropes. The setting and graphics are stunning and the game runs smoothly.

The game looks spectacular but the environment is inconsistent and is always changing. One moment you’re running on a bridge then the next your running through a forest or a mine shaft. This makes the game harder to play due to the challenge of adapting to the constantly changing scenery. Additionally the power ups and upgrade system is altered to make you play longer or spend money.  But the greatest disappointment is the controls. The sensitivities of the controls are weak which makes collecting coins and avoiding obstacles a hassle. Unlike the previous TempleRun, the player is unable to change the sensitivity settings.

Overall, Temple Run 2 is an average game. It’s not as fluid as the first, but there’s nothing to lose with downloading a free game.
