Girls Basketball

bballThis year, the MC girls basketball team begins with a dynamite 6-0 lead, and as the season proceeds, the continue to dominate the leaderboard. With 18 games under their belts, (or should I say, elastic waistbands)  they have emerged victorious in 17 of them. With just one loss, their standing is not to be taken lightly.

The team has an obvious advantage in the league considering the leadership they exhibit during games and practices by the upperclassmen. Senor Annelise Morgan sheds light on the dynamic of the team.

“We’ve all been playing with each other for a long time, so we know how to work efficiently with each other and communicate,” Morgan said.

Our Sundevil girls basketball team has proved that work ethic and dedication leads to an eminent victory.  This week, their league games begin, meaning that the toughest teams in the county will play our Sundevils to see who advances to CIF’s. Concerning their upcoming league games, senior Ali Englehardt describes how the team is feeling.

“We are definitely not worried, at this time last year we were not this confident in our abilities,” Englehardt said. “We like each other off the court, so when we’re on the court it’s easier to come together as a team.”

Although the prospects for next year’s girls basketball team will not include the beloved five seniors, the team continues to work hard toward winning CIF. With the departure of the seniors looming, the pressure to leave a legacy  behind empowers our Sundevils to put 110% into
the rest of their season.

Jordan is a Senior and runs on the MC Cross Country & Track team. She loves to laugh and tries to make puns all the time which aren't really funny. She is an energetic, friendly girl who you can count on. She also eats a lot of chocolate and sour patch kids...so maybe that's why she has so much energy.
