The girl’s golf team has just concluded with tryouts and is preparing for a good season.
“Honestly, I am kind of nervous,” freshman Alyssa Cundari said. “I have never played before and I don’t know all the rules, so it should be interesting.”
The team is prepared to do their best. This includes the multiple seniors, spending their final year at MC playing the sport.
“There are many strength’s on my team,” senior Emily Martin said. “A lot of girls are better at their driver than their irons. Personally, I’m better at my irons, but as a team, we are all amazing put together.”
The seniors just want to enjoy being on the team for one last year.
“The fact that I’m a senior is unreal,” Martin said. “This is my second year of golf and I actually like it! Last year was great and I think this year will be, too.”
The team’s upcoming matches are on September 4, 12, and 16. Their league matches start September 19.
Since matches take place away from MC, the school can show their support by, “wearing golf shirts on Tuesday or Thursday in support of our golf match days,” Greci said.
The girl’s expectations are the same as every other team. They want to do their best.
“I hope not only to improve, but also for everyone else to get better,” senior Breanna Cundari said. “We all like to have fun so if we lose a match, we don’t get upset, we just hope to improve by next time.”
“Our goal is to see all girls enjoy golf even more,” Greci said. “I want them to learn more about the game and help one another on the golf course.”
