Film Club: Coming to theaters soon

On Tuesday, Sept. 12, in room V8,  Haley Josten will be holding film club’s very first meeting. The club is welcoming all students who are interested in the film making process.

“I have been making short films ever since I was little and I love the fact that there is so much collaboration and teamwork involved,” Josten said. “From the directing and acting, to the script writing and camera work, there’s always something for everyone to do.”

According to Josten, there is something for everyone to do at film club. This means that students with many different interests are welcome to join.

“Anyone who enjoys  creative arts like acting, writing, videography, designing costumes, makeup, or even just being imaginative and coming up with ideas can join,” Josten said. “In fact, my friend and I made a short film entirely on an iPhone and we got first place in a PUSD video contest. We had no prior film experience, which proves that the quality of a video is not as important as the message it’s attempting to portray.”

Josten feels that film club could make a huge impact on MC and leave a safe place for students on

campus.

“Through our films, we will hopefully inspire all of our viewers at MC and beyond,” Josten said. “During the meetings, we will be brainstorming ideas and filming on our phones. Whether you’re acting in front of a camera or  behind the scenes, just come ready to be creative and work as a team.”
