MC volleyball gains momentum with win against RB

After a series of disappointing losses, the MC boys’ volleyball team seems to have finally found its way.

Thus far, the results of this have caused some disappointment after losing six matches out 14. Matches, though we are 3-0 in the Palomar League . Head Coach Patsy Malta believes this is due to the lack of experienced players on the team this year.

“Last year, we were really good, and we graduated a lot of kids, so this year we had to start with a new group.” Malta said.

On Wednesday, April 6 MC scored an impressive win against RB. Malta credits the victory to comradery and team spirit.

“We had a lot of energy. The kids like each other a lot and the team works well together.” Malta said.

Although MC has had a hard season so far, Malta is optimistic about the future.

“I think if we get into division one and not the open we could compete for the title,” Malta said.

Though she expects to do well, Malta believes that it will be a challenge to keep up that it’s still a challenge.

“Our biggest challenge will be not making mistakes and keeping the level of intensity during the match at the same height. Not getting flat and playing well together.” Malta said.

On April 27, MC will play against Westview in a game as a fundraiser for cystic fibrosis.
