Epidemics, political scandals, riots, terrorism. All current news stories, all grim and terrible. These issues are all reasons why countless Americans wake up drained of hope before they even get out of bed. Yes, news is vital to global awareness. But there should be a balance between good and bad. Why should news only consist of scandal and crisis? Wouldn’t it prove far more beneficial if the news informed as well as motivated?
I want to spread the good news. I want to motivate America’s youth to read the news and make them want to change the world. People are the key to the future; and I want to provide them with something to believe in: themselves. It gets tiring to live in a world filled with so much anguish.
People are amazing. You are amazing. Countless advances and breakthroughs can be credited to the human brain. Today, do something new. Surprise yourself with your abilities & do not count yourself out simply because you can’t do something as well as someone else. Never compare yourself, because you might fail to realize your strengths.
Attempt to be the good in the world because every day brings new issues that you have the power to turn into something great. Let’s be the generation that changes the world [cliché, but true] by radiating positivity and working through hardships. Nothing worth having comes easy.
Use your strengths by going out into the world and helping people who can benefit from them. You have the ability to put a smile on someone’s face; Never forget that. If you begin to see life through an optimistic lens, you will eventually become an optimist.
Not often enough do high school kids receive recognition. We wake up early, go to school, play sports, do homework, all while maintaining a social life. Its tough, but I’m here to remind you that you’re doing a great job. So today, see life with a new perspective, and if you’re happy and you know it… spread the joy.
