Review: Miley Cyrus “Wrecking Ball” – C

miley

After her daring music video, and her jaw dropping performance on the VMA’s, no one thought that Miley Cyrus could get any worse. But she did.

Recently, Miley Cyrus released a new song called “Wrecking Ball”. Unlike “We can’t Stop”, there is no twerking. But there is a nude Miley Cyrus riding a wrecking ball.

The song starts off fine with a Miley Cyrus with tears streaming down her face. But as the video goes on, her clothes start coming off and she looks ridiculous. She has two main props she uses in the video. The first one is a metal hammer, which she intimately licks and smashes bricks with. The second is a large wrecking ball which she rides like a horse completely nude.

The music itself isn’t outrageously terrible. The song sounds like any other shallow song in the pop industry. Her song is about her failed love with someone, and how she got hurt.

I think that Miley Cyrus is going too far for fame and attention, even if it is working. Her previous song “We can’t Stop” had the record for most views in 24 hours on YouTube. Her title was taken from her by One Direction’s “Best song ever”, but with “Wrecking Ball” she took the title back with 12,700,000 views in 24 hours.

Overall I think that Miley Cyrus is ruining her reputation for attention, and it’s working. The song isn’t horrible, just the video. Rolling on the ground like a dying bee is pushing it too far.
